Love songs begin with the first sight,

And end with forever shining bright.

Tragedies begin with joining hearts,

And ends with lovers pulled apart.

You think love is about persistence,

about endurance,

about holding on tight,

about making things right.

But the greatest expression of love

Is not in plucking stars from above,

Or holding on no matter what,

Or giving you all I’ve got.

Love is balancing my love for you,

With the love for me,

Into a love for us.

And sometimes that love means

Having to let you go in time,

For your sake and mine.

And knowing love will still blossom,

From a beautiful rose with thorns

To a lotus where unconditional love is born.
